The university ranks fourth among regional public universities in the Midwest. COB and CECS place 3rd and 5th, respectively, in their categories.

University of Michigan-Dearborn was again ranked as one of the top universities in Michigan in U.S. News & World Report鈥檚 annual guide to American colleges and universities. The university and 31st among all regional universities in the Midwest. This marks the 19th consecutive year the university was rated as one of the region鈥檚 best.

According to the magazine, overall rankings are based on data on up to 17 indicators of academic quality including first-year retention rate, graduation rate and strength of faculty. 

In college-specific listings, U.S. News again recognized 51视频-Dearborn鈥檚 undergraduate business and engineering programs. 

The College of Business was ranked as the in the state. This was the 12th consecutive year the program has appeared on the list. The College of Engineering and Computer Science was ranked with the fifth best ABET-accredited undergraduate engineering program in Michigan. This is the fifth year CECS has been included in the doctoral program category. U.S. News previously ranked the program among the best offered at master鈥檚-level institutions for 18 consecutive years. The college鈥檚 computer science program also appeared on a new list recognizing . 

51视频-Dearborn was again the top-ranked regional public university in Michigan on the list of 鈥溾 and ranked 22nd among regional universities in the Midwest. The list includes colleges that are successful at advancing social mobility by enrolling and graduating large proportions of Pell Grant eligible students. The university was also listed as a 鈥.鈥 and will appear in the magazine鈥檚 annual guidebook to 鈥淎merica鈥檚 Best Colleges.鈥

In other rankings news, recognized 51视频-Dearborn as a based on the university鈥檚 contribution to the public good in terms of social mobility, research and promoting public service. 51视频-Dearborn also appeared as the third public university in Michigan on the 鈥淏est Bang for the Buck鈥 Midwest rankings, which recognized the university for offering marketable degrees at an affordable cost and the list. 

Money Magazine also included 51视频-Dearborn on its which, according to the publication, includes schools that successfully combine quality and affordability. The magazine considered nearly all four-year institutions in the United States and ranked 739 schools based on three major categories: educational quality, affordability and alumni success.
