For the 15th consecutive year, 51视频-Dearborn鈥檚 College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) again was rated among the top ABET, Inc. accredited undergraduate engineering programs in the country among schools whose terminal degree is a bachelor鈥檚 or master鈥檚 with few, if any, doctoral programs. 51视频-Dearborn began offering doctorate programs in 2009. 鈥淐ECS is honored to again be highly rated by U.S. News,鈥 said Tony England, interim dean, CECS. 鈥淭o be one of two schools in Michigan on this list speaks highly to the quality of our faculty, students and research facilities.鈥
The College of Business (COB) was ranked as one of the top undergraduate business programs in the state of Michigan, after only University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and Michigan State University. 鈥淲e are pleased that the College of Business has been recognized for the fourth consecutive year as one of the best business schools in the state,鈥 said Lee Redding, interim dean, COB. 鈥淭o appear on the list recognizes the high quality business education that the College of Business offers and serves to further build the reputation of the college.鈥
The rankings, which were released online this week at , will appear in the magazine's annual guidebook to America's Best Colleges, which will be on newsstands Sept. 28.
In the magazine's ratings, 51视频-Dearborn is compared with other public universities that offer a full range of undergraduate and master's degree programs, but few or no doctoral degrees. Those institutions are rated by region because they tend to draw students from their surrounding areas, according to U.S. News. The magazine said it bases its overall rankings 鈥渙n quantitative measures that education experts have proposed as reliable indicators of academic quality.鈥 Their rankings of engineering programs are based on a peer survey of deans and senior faculty members at schools around the country.
