Plagiarism Detection in Canvas - Fall 2024
Hello Colleagues,
As mentioned in an email last week, 51视频-Dearborn will have a new plagiarism detection provider integrated in Canvas for the Fall 2024 semester.
Our new plagiarism detection provider is Copyleaks. Copyleaks will replace Turnitin as our sole plagiarism detection provider for Fall 2024, though it is available in Canvas now so that you can start configuring Fall 2024 courses to use it.
Benefits of Copyleaks
Copyleaks will offer faculty more , and also offers some as well. The Office of Digital Education has worked to set the defaults for the scan options, and has locked a limited number of them to align with vendor guidance or 51视频-Dearborn policies (for example, 51视频-Dearborn will not make AI-Detection available, in line with decisions and communications made in the last few months).
Changing from Turnitin to Copyleaks
Canvas Assignments which are currently configured with Turnitin plagiarism detection will need to be reconfigured to use Copyleaks. Fortunately, this is a very simple process. Please see the, which has both video and written instructions for configuring Copyleaks. You will need to make these changes for each assignment in each of your courses, but these changes will carry forward in future semesters if you import Fall 2024 course content.
Copyleaks Virtual Training
51视频-Dearborn's will offer two Copyleaks-specific sessions before the start of the Fall 2024 semester. Recordings of these sessions will be available on the . Please use the Google Calendar button for each session to add the session to your calendar and receive the Zoom information.
